Very pretty indeed, but where's the whiskey? I looked up the Isle's web site and there's attractions for animal lovers, bicyclists, boaters, theater (or theatre) lovers, but nothing about the most famous drink of Scotland.
there is just one distillery, there, Bladnoch. Not one I've tasted, I'm more of a Laphroaig girl. We didn't make a visit, the Scottish hospitality industry's approach to bank holidays seems to be to lock up as early as possible and ideally before you've actually paid for your coffee.
Does that mean the coffee's free?Laphroaig's good stuff. It took me a while to get accustomed to the strong peaty/smoky taste of the Islay malts, but now I quite like them.
